Top-5 finish in Schaeffer's Southern Nationals opener at Beckley

Jensen Ford began his pursuit for the Schaffer’s Southern Nationals point’s title on Friday afternoon by visiting Beckley Motorsports Park (Beckley, W.Va.) for the opener of the 12-race mini-series. In a field of 24 cars, Jensen followed up the third fastest time in his group with a third-place finish in his heat. Starting the $10,053-to-win A-Main in ninth, Ford gained four spots in the 53-lapper to register a fifth-place finish. Saturday’s stop at Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, W.Va.) fell victim to Mother Nature.

Jensen is currently fifth in the Southern Nationals point standings.
