Jensen Ford attends Bristol Dirt Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway

Kicking off the week long Karl Kustoms Bristol Dirt Nationals, Jensen Ford invaded Bristol Motor Speedway (Bristol, Tenn.) on Tuesday afternoon as the famed facility covered the half-mile oval with dirt. With his preliminary events starting on Tuesday, Ford gained two spots in his heat race to record a ninth-place outing. With the track’s curfew postponing his preliminary feature to Wednesday morning, Jensen had improved several spots in the opening laps but a broken driveshaft brought an immediate end to his night. After Mother Nature wiped out Thursday night’s program, Ford shifted his focus to the Super Late Model ranks as action kicked off on Friday evening. In a field of 55 cars, Jensen laid down the fifth fastest time in his qualifying group before placing sixth in his heat. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the A-Main, Ford scored a runner-up finish behind David Payne. Starting the $10,000-to-win A-Main in 19th, Jensen pulled off early on the seventh lap.

The following night, Jensen held onto a third-place finish in his heat race after breaking a power steering line. Earning the 12th-starting position for the $50,000-to-win Bristol Dirt Nationals finale, Ford was up to sixth and challenging for a Top-5 spot when he folded his nose under which limited his steering, forcing him to retire.
