Ford scores 11th-place finish in season opener at Volusia

After losing Friday night’s program to Mother Nature, Jensen Ford was one of 64 Crate Racin’ USA Winter Series entries on hand at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.) on Saturday afternoon to kick off his 2021 season with the Sunshine Nationals finale. With the field split into three separate groups, Ford laid down the fastest lap in his group before placing second in his heat behind Kyle Bronson. Earning the 10th-starting position for the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Jensen faded one spot in the 30-lap affair to register an 11th-place finish.
